«There can be few fields of human endeavor in which history counts for so little as in the world of finance».
(J.K. Galbraith)

Studying history helps to understand mistakes already made, prepare for the unexpected, and for what needs to be pondered upon. Although marked by slight differences, everything repeats, continuously.

In this section you will take a journey through time, even centuries back, to investigate what were investors’ greatest follies and the biggest collapses in value.

The intent is not to scare you but to raise awareness: knowing what ruined thousands of people can help you avoid making the same mistake driven by negative feelings that move mankind, like lust, greed and seeking easy profits. So let us guide you through a journey of history that sees prevailing knowledge of the concept, the story on science fiction and reality about dreams.

We will start our journey by analyzing the major asset bubbles, from tulips to land moving through real scams perpetrated to damage the investors. And although the tulip will always be the emblem of speculative bubbles, you can be assured that new bubbles will burst because avarice, lust, greed, fear and panic will always fill an investor’s emotional wardrobe.

Studying the follies of the past will help you understand those of the present, absolutely nothing changes, and history repeats itself. Always.
